Take a ‘sip’ in and ‘hiss’ out

  • Breathe in silently for 4 counts, suspend the breath for 4 counts, breathe out silently for 4 counts. It is important that in the middle part of the exercise to suspend the breath and not hold the breath. Increase to 4,6,6 and then 4,8,8 and even 4,10,10.
  • Roll an [r] for as long as you can.
  • If you cannot roll the [r] use a lip trill (like a raspberry).
  • Breathe in and then breathe out making the sound of a horse!
